Immunological Approaches in Modern Veterinary Medicine

The Growing Significance of Immunology

Modern veterinary medicine faces the challenge of offering treatment options that are already well-established in human medicine. In particular, an understanding of immunology is becoming increasingly important, as it provides an essential foundation for the development of new forms of therapy. This is particularly evident in the treatment of tumors and autoimmune diseases, where immunological knowledge plays a central role.

Specialization in Autologous Dendritic Cell Therapy

Over the past twenty years, our veterinary practice has specialized extensively in autologous dendritic cell therapy. This procedure bridges the gap between immunological research and practical clinical application. Through this specialization, we aim to make a significant contribution to the further development of innovative therapies in veterinary medicine.

We work with you for the well-being of your patients

We use dendritic cells (DCs) to specifically strengthen the immune system. Under controlled conditions, we generate DCs from the patient’s own monocytes, which have the ability to efficiently present tumor-specific antigens. After injection, they activate a specific T-cell response to precisely target abnormal cells without harming healthy tissue, or they suppress destructive immune processes in autoimmune conditions.

Support your patients’ immune systems where it matters most. Our interdisciplinary team offers you scientifically grounded collaboration in the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases using autologous monocyte-derived dendritic cells.

  • Principle: Targeted antigen presentation, i.e. instead of stimulating the immune system nonspecifically, we leverage the role of dendritic cells as the “generals” of the immune response.
  • Mechanism
Dendritic cells are derived from the patient’s own monocytes under standardized cell culture conditions.
  • Function
After re-injection, they present tumor-specific antigens and induce a targeted cellular immune response by activating naive T cells.
  • Goal
Effective combat against tumor cells with minimal impact on healthy tissue, or a modulating effect on overactive immune responses in autoimmune diseases.

Your benefits as a referring practice with a clear limitation of liability agreement:

  • Gentle Profile
An ideal complement to your treatment options – without the typical systemic weakening of the patient associated with other forms of therapy.
  • Easy Integration
The treatment can be easily incorporated into your daily practice routine. This is because blood collection and the administration of the dendritic cells typically take place in your practice.
  • Interdisciplinary Support
We don’t just supply the cells – we also support you with the expertise of our veterinarians, immunologists, and production specialists in planning and carrying out the treatment.
  • Patient Family
An innovative treatment option that offers quality of life and hope without compromising compliance due to severe side effects. Your pet owner remains your client at your veterinary practice.
